Regulated immigration to Norway

In 2010 we granted most family immigration permits to nationals of Thailand and the Philippines, most work permits to Romanians and Indians, and most study permits to people from Russia and China. Among those who were granted protection in Norway, most came from Eritrea and Somalia.

Due to the new registration system, which means that most EU nationals can stay in Norway without applying for a residence permit, we now regulate a smaller proportion of the immigration than before.
