Norwegian citizenship for Nordic citizens
If you are a citizen of Denmark, Finland, Iceland or Sweden you can acquire Norwegian citizenship by application or notification.
Application
Nordic citizens above the age of 12 that have lived in Norway the past two years can apply for Norwegian citizenship.
The fee for an application for Norwegian citizen is currently NOK 2 500.
Notification
Nordic citizens above the age of 18 can after 7 years of residence in Norway give notification for Norwegian citizenship instead of applying.
If you have previously held Norwegian citizenship, the requirements for age and residence in Norway do not apply.
There is no fee for giving notification for Norwegian citizenship.
