Rejection and expulsion
Foreign nationals may be rejected or expelled from Norway. On these pages you can find information about the reasons why and the consecuenses of these two sanctions.
- Rejection
Rejection means that you are temporarily denied entry into Norway, or must leave the country. A rejection order does not mean that, in the future, you will be denied entry into or residence in Norway.
- Expulsion
Expulsion is the toughest sanction the immigration authorities are able to give out. An expulsion order means that you must leave Norway and are not permitted to re-enter the country.
- The Schengen Information System (SIS)
SIS is a database of, among other things, all those registered as persona non grata in the Schengen area and is used by all countries in the Schengen cooperation.
