IRRANA (Information, Return and Reintegration of Afghan Nationals to Afghanistan Programme) is a programme for voluntary assisted return and repatriation to Afghanistan.
Who can participate in IRRANA
IRRANA is a return and repatriation programme for asylum seekers, persons whose application for residence has been rejected and persons without legal residence in Norway who wish to return voluntarily to Afghanistan, and persons with residence permits who wish to return to Afghanistan.
Through this programme, the IOM provides individual information and advice, helps to obtain travel documents, organises the return journey, airline tickets and transit visas, and offers assistance during transit and on arrival in Afghanistan.
Reintegration support
Programme participants are eligible to receive a cash sum and individual advice and reintegration support, such as help to find a job, training and financial support, support to set up a business, and support for schooling and education. The support is also given to Afghans who have been forcibly escorted out of Norway by the police (see information about PRAN).
Persons who hold residence permits
Persons who hold a residence permit in Norway who return to Afghanistan will receive a cash sum of NOK 15,000 per person. The programme also offers reintegration support of up to NOK 25,000 per person in the form of help to find a job, training and financial support, support to set up a business, and support for schooling and education.
Persons without a residence permit in Norway
Persons without a residence permit in Norway who return voluntarily to Afghanistan will receive a cash sum of NOK 10,000 per person. The programme also offers reintegration support of up to NOK 25,000 per person in the form of help to find a job, training and financial support, support to set up a business, and support for schooling and education.
