Right of residence in Norway for EU/EEA/EFTA nationals
If you are a citizen of an EU / EEA / EFTA country, you do not need to apply for a residence permit, but you must register yourself.
Citizens of Croatia are still required to apply for a residence permit if they wish to study or work in Norway. This will be the case until Croatia formally becomes a member of the EEA, which will probably happen in early 2014. This means that family members of Croatians must still apply for family immigration through the standards regulations (they may not apply for a residence card for family members of EU/EEA nationals).
Citizens of Romania and Bulgaria no longer need to apply for residence permits. Instead they should now use the Registration scheme for EEA nationals. If you have not already registered through this scheme, please go to the Application Portal Norway now.
