Information to Thai Citizens

Until Friday December 12th, Thai citizens who are unable to return home due to the situation at the airport in Bangkok may apply to stay longer in Norway. This will mainly apply to persons who are unable to purchase a ticket before their visa expires.

Persons who have held a visa for a shorter period than 90 days within the past 6 months, may apply to get their visa extended.
 
Persons who have held a visa for a total of 90 days within the last 6 months, may not get their visa extended, but may apply for a residence permit.
 

How to apply

An application for a residence permit or an extension of a visa must be submitted at the nearest police station. You need to present your passport and attach a copy of return ticket/ receipt of paid return ticked to the application. If you haven't yet paid you return ticket yet, you need to attach a note explaining why this has not been done.
 
Please pay the fee at the latest at the time of submitting your application. The application fee for a residence permit is 1 100 NOK.
 

Limited period

If the situation on the airport in Bangkok is not aggravated before December 12th, the UDI is of the opinion that no further action is needed for this group.
