Changes in the support for assisted return to Morocco


If you apply for assisted return to Morocco before 1 May 2019, you may receive practical and economic aid in addition to the normal support for return.

Who can apply for this additional support for assisted return? 

You may apply for this support if you have citizenship or a residence permit in Morocco and you either 

  • are staying in Norway without a residence permit
  • have received a rejection to your application for protection (asylum)
  • are waiting for an answer to your application for protection (asylum)
  • have received a rejection to another type of application for a residence permit 

You are entitled to reintegration support 

You are entitled to a reintegration support of € 2 000 that may be used for vocational training, courses or education, or starting up a business. Caritas Morocco and Fondation Orient-Occident will offer individual guidance to help you with this. You will not get this money paid out in cash. However, you will also be entitled to the normal support for assisted return.

You need to fill in the IOM application form (external website) or meet at the IOM office in Skippergata 33 in Oslo. You may also call IOM for free on this phone number: 800 37 484, or send an email to iomoslovarp@iom.int. 

Information and guidance from Caritas Norway 

Caritas Norway can give you information and guidance about assisted return to Morocco and the follow-up you can get there. You can meet them in person in their open office in Storgata 38 in Oslo (entrance from Hausmannsgate) or you can call them on 22 60 16 30 or send an email to infosenter@caritas.no. 

If you are deported by the police 

If you are deported by the police to Morocco before 1 May 2019, you will get NOK 3 000 in cash in addition to € 1 000 in reintegration support that you may use for vocational training, courses or education, or starting up a business in Morocco. The support of € 1 000 will not be paid out in cash. Caritas and Fondation Orient-Occident will give you practical assistance in investing the support after you have returned to Morocco.
