You can expect to wait for a long time when calling the Information Service at Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). This is due to a large number of calls and applications. We apologise for the inconvenience. If you send e-mail to ots@udi.no, we will reply within three working days.

By calling our telephone services, Information Service (OTS), y ou will receive information about application procedures, expected case processing times and the status of your application.

You can also send an e-mail to OTS if you have any questions about your case, or want information about the different types of application.

In order for you to get an answer about your own application, you must state your DUF-number/reference number (or date of birth and personal number).

Power of attorney

Information about other cases other than your own is normally confidential and can only be given to the applicant. If you want to receive such confidential information from us, you must submit or send us a letter or fax with a written authorisation/power of attorney from the applicant.

If you have new or further information that you would like to be attached to your case, you need to send this in writing to:

Asylum cases

The Information Service (OTS) will respond to questions regarding asylum cases if you call from a phone number at the reception centre where you are staying, or if you call from a phone number that is registered on you name. You will need to state your DUF-number (reference number), date of birth, full name, and name of reception centre or private address where you are staying in order for us to give you information over the phone. We are unfortunately not able to give information regarding asylum cases per e-mail.
