Can I work while I am studying in Norway?
Yes. When you are granted your first student residence permit in Norway, you are automatically granted a permit to work part-time in addition to your studies.
This allows you to work up to 20 hours per week as well as full-time during ordinary holidays. By ordinary holidays we refer to holidays such as summer holidays, Christmas and Easter. If you finish all your exams and classes prior to these holidays, you may start to work full-time.
You may not be self-employed or run your own business.
