What happens when I have had collective protection for five years?
You can have collective protection for a total of five years. After five years have passed, this permit cannot be extended further.
The Government will not discontinue the temporary collective protection scheme in 2027. The Government will provide more information about what will happen next in good time.
It has not yet been decided what will happen to people who will soon have had collective protection for five years. However, the Government has stated that people who will have had collective protection for five years in 2027 will receive more information well before their permits expire.
