The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) and the Immigration Appeals Board (UNE) have previously suspended the duty to return to Lebanon. The suspension has now been extended until 18 September 2026.
This means that persons from Lebanon who have received a final rejection of an application for residence in Norway are, for the time being, not required to return.
During this period, the police will also not carry out forced returns to Lebanon.
The extension is due to the serious and unpredictable security situation in Lebanon. UDI and UNE will also continue to suspend the processing of cases that may result in return to Lebanon during the same period.
