Following the 2015 asylum crisis in Europe, the Scandinavian countries introduced new forms of temporary asylum permits. In this paper we compare these emerging temporary regimes.

If a person does not meet the criteria for refugee status or subsidiary protection, Member States may offer national protection. This EMN study shows that there are a total of 60 different forms of national protection in these countries.
