Period of reflection

Requirements for the applicant

  • You must be a presumed victim of human trafficking. It is sufficient that there are indications which, taken together, show that you may be such a victim.
  • You must be willing to accept assistance and to follow up on the measures offered to you.
  • You must document your identity. A valid passport is usually valid proof of identity. If you do not have a valid national passport or other travel document, you must explain the reason for this.
  • You are not required to pay an application fee. 
  • There is no requirement that you have your own income.

Accompanying children

  • If you are granted a period of reflection, children applying together with you will be granted a residence permit of the same duration as yours.
  • You are not required to pay an application fee when applying for your child.
  • There is no requirement that you have your own income.
