Applications for visitor visas are processed by embassies.

• You can hand in your application at the visa application centre, an embassy or a consulate no earlier than six months before you travel.
• If you plan to travel in and out of the Schengen area, you must state this in your application. This is particularly important for seafarers.
• If you plan to visit several countries in the Schengen area, you must submit your application to the embassy or consulate of the country that is your main destination.
• You cannot work, including remote work, while you are visiting Norway on a visitor visa.
• You cannot use a visitor visa to apply for a residence permit in Norway.
