Fraudulent work offers
We encourage applicants to be alert to fraudulent job offers and to always obtain confirmation directly from the employer before trusting an agent.
The Norwegian immigration authorities do not offer services to formally verify the authenticity of a work permit or a job offer. If you apply for a work permit in Norway, you are responsible for submitting genuine documents. This also applies if you use an agent.
We use your phone number and email address to contact you about your application. You are responsible for ensuring that the phone number and email address provided in your application are your own, and that only you have access to them. This also applies if you use an agent to submit your application.
Submitting fraudulent documents or being involved in a scam in connection with an application for a residence permit or a visa to Norway may have serious consequences.
If an applicant submits a forged job offer or other falsified documentation, this may result in a five-year entry ban to the Schengen area.
Below are examples of companies that have been misused in connection with fraudulent job offers. We have received this information after contacting the employers. These companies have nothing to do with the scam, and some of them do not exist.
Please note that the list is not complete. Even if your employer is not on the list, this does not mean that the job offer is genuine.
