Please stay alert and always confirm with the employer before trusting an agent
We encourage applicants to exercise caution and always obtain confirmation directly from the employer before choosing to trust an agent.
The Norwegian immigration authorities do not offer services to formally verify the authenticity of a work permit, or a job offer. If you wish to apply for a work permit in Norway, be aware that you will personally bear the responsibility of submitting genuine documents. This also applies if you use an agent. Penalties may arise from submitting fraudulent documents or falling victim to a scam when applying for residency or visa to Norway. If an applicant submits forged job offers or other types of forged documentation, one can face a 5-year entry ban to the Schengen area.
Below are recent examples of companies used in fraudulent work offers. We have received this information after contacting the employers. These companies have nothing to do with the scam. Some of the companies do not exist.
Please note that this list is not complete. Even if your employer is not on the list, it does not mean that the job offer is genuine.
To learn about how to spot fraudulent job offers you can read more on the website for European Employment Services (EURES) (external website).
