Family immigration

You can apply for family immigration if you have close family in Norway.

Family immigration distinguishes between family reunification and forming a family.

Family reunification refers to those who already have family members in Norway and wish to be reunited in Norway. Forming a family refers to those who want to become a family in Norway.

In order to be granted a family immigration permit, all requirements must be met. There are different rules and regulations depending on what family member you apply with.

Those who apply for family immigration are usually the spouse or child of someone who lives in Norway. Examples of other types of family members who may apply are parents who have children in Norway, those who are going to marry someone in Norway (fiancée) or full siblings.
