How long should I expect to wait for an answer?

If your application is processed by the embassy in the country you live in,
you will normally receive an answer within 15 days of handing in your application at the Visa Application Centre, the consulate or the embassy.

If your application is processed by an embassy in another country, it will take a few more days, as your application will be sent by courier to and from the embassy. You will find information about how long this will take on the embassy’s web pages.

If capacity at the embassy is reduced, the Application Centre may have fewer appointments available. An Application Centre may have no appointments available in periods when capacity at the embassy is reduced. Consequently, we recommend submitting your applications for a visa no later than three (3) months before leaving for the tournament.

Questions concerning appointments or waiting times at the Visa Application Centres must be directed to the VFS centre, embassy or consulate responsible for your application. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration cannot assist you with these issues.
