UDI's information services from 1 February 2024
UDI will allocate more time to process applications in February, March and April 2024. Therefore, we will not be as available as normal by phone and e-mail during this period. At the same time, more people will be given the opportunity to chat with the UDI Information Service.
In UDI, it is case officers who answer you when you contact the UDI Information Service.
The UDI Information Service will be closed on Wednesdays
The UDI Information Service will be closed on Wednesdays from 7 February. You can find updated information on our website udi.no. The Information Service is open as usual on all other weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We want to be available for you who contact us. At the same time, there are many people who want to talk with us, and you may therefore experience having to wait a while before you get an answer if you call us.
Chat with us
Chat is a quick and easy way to talk with the UDI Information Service. Therefore, we will give more people the opportunity to contact us via chat.
From 1 February you can chat with us if you have questions about citizenship, family immigration, permanent residence, work, studies, visitor visa, au pair, EEA, and technical problems with online applications.
You can chat with us during the Information Service's opening hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Outside the Information Service's opening hours, you can send us an e-mail by filling in a contact form. It may be faster to receive an answer by chat than on the phone or by e-mail.
Information on waiting times
UDI processes many applications for residence permits in Norway. The waiting times may vary. You will find updated information at udi.no.
If you have questions about when you will receive a response to your application, we ask that you read the information at udi.no/waitingtime (external website). UDI's Information Service cannot give you any other information about waiting times than what you find on our website.
