I am a citizen of Türkiye or Syria and have lost my Norwegian residence card because of the earthquake. What must I do in order to be able to travel back to Norway?
If you have lost a valid residence card as a result of the earthquake, you will have to apply for an entry visa (D visa). More information on how to apply for an entry visa is available on the website of the Royal Norwegian embassy in Ankara (eksternt nettsted).
Please note, if you have also lost your passport from your home country, you will have to contact the authorities there in order to be issued a new passport before you can apply for an entry visa.
If you have a Norwegian travel document for refugees, you are not supposed to contact the authorities in your home country. In that case, you must contact the Norwegian embassy in Turkey to apply for a travel document called 'laissez-passer'.
