I have received a letter informing me that I do not meet the criteria for collective protection. I am currently placed in private housing (temporary alternative accommodation to reception centres). What happens now?

There are two schemes allowing people to live in private housing as alternative accommodation to reception centres:

  • standard scheme for alternative accommodation to reception centres
  • scheme for temporary alternative accommodation to reception centres

The temporary scheme is for people who were forced to leave Ukraine and who meet the criteria for temporary collective protection. You will find information on who may be granted collective protection here.

If you have received a letter stating that you do not meet the criteria for temporary collective protection, and you are currently placed in private housing under the temporary scheme, then your housing offer will end.

Your alternatives

We recently sent you a letter notifying you that your private housing (temporary alternative accommodation to reception centre) will be ending. This letter contains information about the alternatives you have and deadlines you must meet. In short, here are your alternatives:

  1. Apply for private housing under the scheme, “standard scheme for alternative accommodation to reception centres”. You will find information about eligibility requirements and how to apply here.
  2. Be placed in a reception centre. You will find information on being placed in a reception centre or private housing here.

Municipalities who have people in temporary alternative accommodation who are affected by this change have received information about this separately.
