How to apply
Print out the checklist and gather the necessary documents
- your passport and a copy of all the pages in your passport
- documentation of the date of departure from Norway, for example an exit stamp in your passport or tickets that shows when you left Norway
- documentation showing the reasons why you want to travel to Norway, for example a medical certificate or a summons to attend a court case
- if you were expelled from Norway because of criminal offences: a new, dated certificate of good conduct from the country where you live now.
- if you have a residence card according to the EU/EEA regulations in another EU/EEA country: a copy of this card
- if you have a spouse who is a Norwegian citizen: all the documents on the checklist for residence card for spouse of Norwegian citizen according to the EEA regulations
- if you have a spouse who is an EU/EEA national: all the documents on the checklist for residence card for spouse of an EU/EEA national
- if you have a cohabitant who is an EU/EEA national: all the documents on the checklist for residence card for cohabitant of an EU/EEA national
The documents must be in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English, French, Spanish or German. If you submit documents in other languages, you must enclose a translation into Norwegian or English by an authorised translator.
