Confirmation of job offers

When you are applying for a residence permit for work from abroad, your employer or client must in many cases confirm your job offer before you can submit your application form. This is a new measure introduced to help reduce fraudulent job offers. You will find a separate section about confirmation of a job offer for the types of work permit where this applies.

Skilled workers

  • You have completed higher education, for example as an engineer or a nurse, or
  • you have completed vocational training, for example as a carpenter or health worker

You have received a job offer, or you have your own business.

Seasonal workers

You plan to work as a holiday stand-in or carry out seasonal work in forestry, agriculture, the fish processing industry, the restaurant industry or the tourism industry.

Job seekers

Check whether you can come to Norway to look for work.

Exchange programmes, culture and organisational work

You plan to participate in an exchange programme or work in an organisation, or you are an artist, performer or musician.

Employees of foreign companies in another EU/EEA country
