What happens to my application while I wait?

  1. Once you have submitted all the application documents to the police, the police will assess your application.
  2. The police will either consider your application themselves or forward it to UDI. You will be notified when your application has been received by UDI.
  3. If forwarded to UDI, we consider your application and make a decision. You can read more about the waiting time in our guide to waiting time for applications for immigrant's passport and refugee travel document.  
  4. When UDI has made a decision in your case, we will notify you.
