Permits limited due to reasons other than applicant identity (§74)

If you have been granted a residence permit on the basis of protecting you from returning to your home country, the decision letter you received from UDI will state that your residence permit is limited, pursuant to the Immigration Act, Section 74 (Utlendingsloven §74). The letter will also explain why you were given such a permit.

There are no particular requirements for renewing your residence permit.

There is no application fee.

If you are granted a new residence permit, you will be issued the same type of residence permit as before. Your residence permit will normally only be valid for seven months at a time.
