Do I get money while living at the reception centre?

If you are entitled to live at a reception centre, you will be given money while you live there. You will be paid what is called the basic amount. You do not need to apply for the basic amount. 

How much money you receive depends on 

  • whether you have an application that is being processed
  • whether your application has been rejected or you have been granted residence in Norway
  • the type of reception centre you live at

If you have received a final rejection of your application for protection (asylum), you will receive less money than before you received the final rejection. You cannot appeal to the reception centre or to UDI because you receive less money after you have received a final rejection.
