Can my case be prioritised if I am going to travel?

Very few applications can be prioritised. Unfortunately, we cannot process your case faster even if you:

  • are going or planning to go on holiday
  • have already purchased holiday tickets
  • are going to visit family
  • want your child to travel on holiday or visit family, or
  • want your child to start school in the autumn

Do not travel without a valid residence card

If you plan to travel outside of Norway, you must have a valid residence card.

You can choose between applying for either family immigration or a residence card for family members of EU/EEA nationals. Family immigration with a Norwegian or Nordic citizen

Do you have a family member living in Norway who you want to come and live with? If so, you may be eligible for applying for family immigration for

  • spouses
  • cohabitants and fiancés/fiancées
  • children and parents
  • other family members

 

Residence card for family members of EU/EEA nationals

If you are from a country outside the EU/EEA and the family member in Norway is an EU/EEA national, you can apply for a residence card for family members of EU/EEA nationals.
